This large section of actual Edmontosaurus annectens fossil dinosaur skin was recovered from a dig site near Marmarth, North Dakota. The skin section was discovered along with several ribs. The original texture of the skin is preserved, including the skin folds and tubercles. The folds and general texture are similar to the skin found on the rib cage of the famous Edmontosaurus annectens mummy AMNH 5060. The original specimen is remarkably well preserved and may contain organic material from the now extinct duck-billed dinosaur!
Display Replicas are painted by our experts to match the original fossil’s coloration. Solid Color Replicas are unmounted casts suitable for research or reference purposes. It is painted a single color. Note: some portions of the original fossil may have been scientifically restored.
