Steneosaurus was a rather modern-looking crocodile. Later Jurassic forms reached up to 13 feet (four meters) in length. It had a long narrow snout, similar to modern Garials from Southeast Asia, and long slender teeth, undoubtedly for eating fish. Our replica is an excellent dorsal view of a nearly complete specimen.

Locality Posidon Shale, Holzmaden, Germany
Credit The original specimen is in the collection of the Vienna Museum of Natural History, Austria.
